Richard B. Russell Lake was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after the construction of Richard B. Russell Dam on the Savannah River in 1983. Some of the features of this paddle include great scenery, a few islands, fishing and maybe some wildlife. This is a good fishing lake with a variety of species, including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, bream and catfish.
